Tautomerism in 5-methyltetrazole investigated by core-level photoelectron spectroscopy and ΔSCF calculations

► High-resolution XPS of 5-methyltetrazole reveals different tautomers. ► 5MTZ exists mainly as 2H-5MTZ. ► ΔSCF results are in excellent agreement with the measured binding energies.
