Synthesis and optical characterization of strong red light emitting KLaF4:Eu3+ nanophosphors

► KLaF4: Eu3+ nanophosphors with cubic symmetry were synthesized. ► The nanocrystal sizes are about 5 nm. ► Strong red color emission with larger life times is successfully demonstrated. ► Our results suggest a potential red phosphor for applications.
