Correlation between band structures and photocatalytic activities of CdxCuyZn1-x-yS solid solution

► We prepared CdxCuyZn1-x-yS solid solution. ► High hydrogen evolution rate was realized even without noble metal cocatalysts. ► The DOS results proved the band structure was similar with our assumption. ► The effect of band structure to the photocatalytic hydrogen evolution was discussed.
