Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) spectroscopy of enantiomeric and racemic methionine on a silver electrode-evidence for chiral discrimination in interactions between adsorbed molecules

► We examine SERS spectra of methionine at a silver surface. ► Sensitivity of the SERS spectra to chirality of adsorbed molecules is observed. ► We interpret this in terms of variety of interactions within the monolayer.
