Low-temperature thermal decomposition of crystalline partly and completely deuterated ammonium perchlorate

► Deuteration alters the thermal behaviour of ammonium perchlorate. ► Rates of thermal decomposition decrease in the sequence N[H/D]4ClO4 > NH4ClO4 > ND4ClO. ► Results support the hypothesis of proton transfer at the intersection of dislocations.
