First principles investigations on the half metallic properties of Sr2MOsO6 (MÂ =Â V, Mn, Fe, Co)

► Four artificial double perovskites are studied by first principles. ► Sr2VOsO6 and Sr2CoOsO6 are promising candidates of half metal. ► Experimental investigation is suggested.
