Improved visible light absorption of HTaWO6 induced by nitrogen doping: An experimental and theoretical study

►Pure HTaWO6 and N-doped HTaWO6 photocatalysts have been prepared and characterized using XRD and XPS. ►Electronic structures of N-doped HTaWO6 have been investigated and compared with pure HTaWO6. The effect of nitrogen dopants has been illustrated. ►Improved UV-vis light absorption performance, as predicted by DFT calculations, has been observed experimentally.
