A statistical approach to energy loss during gas-liquid collisions

By a statistical treatment of a simple model for atom + liquid surface collisions, general results for the energy loss and trapping probability of the incoming atom are derived, and a new graphical method of obtaining the potential well depth at the liquid surface is presented.
