Theoretical study of CO oxidation on small gold cluster anions: Role of the carbonate adducts

The gold carbonates are found to be the most stable structures among the possible Au2nCO3- isomers; they are thus expected to play an important role in the CO oxidation on Au2n- following an Eley-Rideal mechanism.
