Formation and microstructural characterization of In2O3 sheath layer on InN nanostructures

► Rounding and bursting phenomena were observed during the oxidation process. ► InN/In2O3 core-shell structures were identified as intermediate structures. ► HRTEM study shows two different atomic structures at the InN/In2O3 interfaces. ► Cracks in burst nanostructures were generated at the corners.
