Surface area of closed carbon nanotubes determined from room temperature measurements of alcohols adsorption

► Alcohols are arranged flat on closed nanotubes. ► Qualitative agreement between surface area of tubes from nitrogen and alcohols is observed. ► Alcohols adsorption can be recommended for surface area measurements as cheaper alternative to nitrogen.
