Characterization and spectroscopic analysis of phenol-ethanol hydrogen bonded clusters

► Some of the phenol-ethanol clusters are identified for the first time. ► A theoretical characterization is presented with analysis of the rotational, infrared and electronic spectra. ► They are analyzed as the precursor of the red shift in the electronic spectrum of phenol in liquid ethanol.
