Cooperativity effects between non-covalent interactions: Are they important for Z-DNA stability?

The mutual influence between hydrogen bonding and either l.p.-π or π-π stacking interactions have been studied in two models of Z-DNA. We have found interesting cooperativity effects between the non-covalent interactions, which are very important in giving the Z-DNA the necessary stability.
