Difference of solvation site between halide ions and electrons in an alkylammonium ionic liquid

Bromide and iodide replaced the anions of the ionic liquid and were fully solvated by the ammonium cations. In contrast, the solvated electrons were less solvated because they were located in the region of the alkyl chain of the cations.
