Hydration entropy of polar, nonpolar and charged species

The hydration entropy, at 25 °C and 1 atm, of neutral solutes is largely insensitive to the polar nature of the molecule, and is well reproduced by the entropy change upon cavity creation, as calculated by the classic scaled particle theory.
