Organic influences on inorganic patterns of diffusion-controlled precipitation in gels

► Acetic acid and N-acetyl amino acids induce banding in silver chromate precipitates in agarose. ► Addition of nitric acid to agarose gel does not induce banding. ► Liesegang banding of silver chromate in gelatin is probably due to soluble organic components.
