Adsorption of molecular hydrogen on an ultrathin layer of Ni(1Â 1Â 1) hydride

Exposure of Ni(1 1 1) to atomic hydrogen leads to absorption of hydrogen atoms in the subsurface region, as well as the adsorption of molecular hydrogen on the corrugated nickel surface.
