Surface segregation of core atoms in core-shell structures

Surface segregation behavior of Ir in Ir (core)-Pt (shell) structures changes from antisegregation on clean surfaces (left) to borderline with segregation when oxygen is adsorbed on fcc (center) or hcp (right) sites of (1 1 1) surfaces.
