The kinetics of formation and dissociation of the binuclear complex [FeII(CN)5pzRuII(NH3)5]- were studied in sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) micelles. The results were interpreted by using the Pseudophase Model for the dissociation process. At the same time, a modified Pseudophase Model was used to explain the results obtained in the formation process. In this modified model, the influence that the surface potential of the micelles provokes on the formation process was taken into account.
Results corresponding to the formation process of the binuclear complex [FeII(CN)5pzRuII(NH3)5]- in SDS solutions could not be explaining by using the Pseudophase Model. The influence that the surface potential of these micelles exerts on the equilibrium constant of this complex between the micellar pseudophase and water must be taken into account in the discussion of the results.
