Studying the transfer process of a gemini surfactant from water to β-cyclodextrin at a molecular level

A thermodynamic study of a gemini surfactant in the presence of β-CD shows the formation of a molecular complex with a 1:2 stoichiometry. The transfer properties have been discussed in terms of a simple model which takes into account the role of the released water from the cavities.
