Tuning of redox and photophysical properties of porphyrins by successive introduction of one, two, three and four meso-furyl groups

The systematic variation of electrochemical and photophysical properties of porphyrins with N4, N3S and N2S2 cores on successive replacement of six membered meso-aryl groups with five membered meso-furyl groups is reported.
