Kinetic effects of methyl-β-cyclodextrin and 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin and their mixtures on the reaction [Fe(CN)5(4-phepy)]3− + [Co(NH3)4(H2O)2]3+

Schematic representation of the non-additivity effects of mixtures of CDs. Open circles represent the effect of MβCD and filled circles those of the mixture, MβCD + HβCD. It is shown that the Brönsted equation can be used to account for these observed reactivity changes in pseudo-multiphase systems such as CDs mixtures.
