Jastrow correlations and near degeneracy effects in neutral atoms and cations with 3 ⩽ Z ⩽ 36

We have calculated the energy for neutral atoms and cations with 3 ⩽ Z ⩽ 36 with explicitly correlated wave functions including near degeneracy effects by using variational Monte Carlo.
