Mutual enhancement between plasmon and molecular fluorescence of conjugated polymer on metal substrates induced by STM

The light emission of a conjugated polymer (MEHPPV) induced by STM at different substrates such as Ag(1 1 1), poly-Ag, etc. in air at room temperature have been directly measured. The results reveal that a mutual enhancement between surface plasmon and molecular fluorescence for the STM-induced luminescence of MEHPPV on these substrates.
