Ferromagnetism in transparent Mn(II)-doped indium tin oxide films prepared by sol-gel coating

We observe room temperature ferromagnetism [∼1.5 μB/Mn(II)] in 6 at% Mn(II)-doped indium tin oxide (ITO) films deposited on soda lime silica glass substrate. High optical transparency (∼80%) is retained in the films. The crystallographic structure parameters are found to be dependent on the substrate even though the structural symmetry remains invariant.
