The role of laser pulse duration in the photodesorption of NO/NiO(1Â 0Â 0)

The process of photodesorption is studied theoretically from first principles for the system NO/NiO(1 0 0). We systematically investigate the influence of the duration of the stimulating laser pulse on observables of interest such as velocity and rotational distributions of desorbing molecules.
