Investigation of the reactivity of hydrated electron toward perfluorinated carboxylates by laser flash photolysis

It was proved that eaq- could react with PFCAs. The rate constant was ionic strength dependent. The rate constant increased with perfluorinated chain length, from (2.3 ± 0.2) × 106 M−1 s−1 for CF3COO− to (1.7 ± 0.5) × 107 M−1 s−1 for C7F15COO− at μ = 0.01 M.
