3D fractal dimension of fat crystal networks

The relationship between a 2D and 3D fractal dimension is addressed here. The common approach, 3D = 2D + 1, was found to be incorrect. A 3D fractal dimension must be determined experimentally from analysis of deconvolved and reconstructed sample volume elements. A new algorithm and software were developed for this purpose.
