Frictional characteristics of the tribological unfolding albumin for polyethylene and cartilage

The tribological process induces unfolding and conformational change of albumin molecules. The interactions of native and unfolded albumin with relative hydrophobic polyethylene and hydrophilic cartilage surfaces determine their frictional characteristics in the boundary lubrication regime.
