Novel compounds with cobalt, copper, and nickel dimers sandwiched between benzene molecules: A DFT study

The coaxial stable cobalt sandwich structure (C6H6-Co-Co-C6H6) and its multilayer sandwich clusters have been studied using DFT methods. However, the nickel and copper sandwich structures only have the new stable ones with the metal atom η2 bonding to the benzene ring.
