Electronic properties and stability of graphene nanoribbons: An interpretation based on Clar sextet theory

Clar sextet theory allows rationalizing the electronic structure of zigzag, armchair and chiral-terminated graphene nanoribbons evaluated by applying gradient-corrected density functional theory.
