Novel red phosphors based on vanadate garnets for solid state lighting applications

A series of vanadate garnets with the composition BixLnyEu1−x−yNa2Mg2V3O12 (where Ln = Y, La, Gd; x = 0-0.4 and y = 0-0.2) were synthesized and their applications as red phosphors for solid state lighting were investigated.
