Collective dynamics of sub- and supercritical methanol by inelastic X-ray scattering

Inelastic X-ray scattering experiments were performed on methanol as a function of density from ambient to supercritical state. The change in positive dispersion of the sound velocity from the hydrodynamic values has shown the feature of hydrogen-bonded clusters in methanol.
