EPR investigation of local lattice structure of Mn2+ in diamagnetic garnets

The relationship between EPR parameters and local crystal structure of octahedral Mn2+ centre in diamagnetic garnets is presented by diagonalizing complete energy matrices for a d5 configuration ion in a trigonal ligand-field. The local lattice structure parameters R and θ for the octahedral Mn2+ ion centre are determined.
