Ewald summation based on nonuniform fast Fourier transform

Accurately representing electrostatic interactions in simulations is of crucial importance in simulations of systems that include charges. We reformulate Ewald summation by making a connection with the theory of nonuniform fast Fourier transforms. The result is a method that is accurate, fast, and simple to implement.
