Selective spectral modulation of strongly coupled spins with an echo top refocusing pulse in PRESS sequences

▸ We investigated the effects of a broadband 180° pulse at the location of the first echo in PRESS (gPRESS). ▸ Selective spectral modulations of strongly coupled spins were observed. ▸ No effects occurred on singlet and weakly coupled resonances. ▸ The phenomenon is due to coherence transfer occurring during the evolution periods. ▸ It is essential to assess the effects of broadband 180° pulses on strongly coupled spins.
