Velocity field measurements in sedimentary rock cores by magnetization prepared 3D SPRITE

► Quantitative 3-D mapping of velocity field in sedimentary rock cores is discussed. ► The proposed MRI method employs restricted k- and q-space sampling. ► 3-D imaging of flow velocity was performed with spatial resolution of 1 mm. ► The measurements agree with a general trend for permeability to increase with the porosity.
