Submonolayer sensitive adsorption study of trichloroethene on single crystal surfaces by means of MIES, UPS and TPD

► We show at least a three times higher surface sensitivity for MIES compared to UPS. ► Achieved detection limit of 13% ML for TCE on Mo(112). ► TCE on Mo(112), Mo(100) and Pt(111): physisorption followed by multilayer formation. ► No orientational changes of the TCE molecule with coverage can be evidenced.
