Controlling adsorption status of individual fullerene at room-temperature

► The intramolecular fine structures of a fullerene is observed on Ag-decorated Si(111)-(7 × 7) surface at room temperature. ► The adsorption geometry of a fullerene molecule is influenced by introducing Ag cluster. ► The adsorption status of a fullerene molecule is recovered by removal of the Ag cluster away from the molecule.
