pH-dependent structure and energetics of H2O/MgO(100)

► We explore the energetics of water on MgO(100) by DFT calculations. ► The stability of MgO(100) as a function of the pH value is investigated by AFM. ► The water pH value is included in the ab initio thermodynamics.
