Single-step preparation, characterization and photocatalytic mechanism of mesoporous Fe-doped sulfated titania

► Fe-doped sulfated titania photocatalysts with high photocatalytic activity were prepared by one-step thermal hydrolysis method. ► Low-cost industrial titanyl sulfate solution has been used as the raw material. ► Mesoporous structure has been achieved without use template reagent.
