Enhanced Damping Capacities of Mg-Ce Alloy by the Special Microstructure with Parallel Second Phase

- Numerous fine parallel shaped second phases in as-cast Mg-2Ce alloy are obtained.
- Many dislocations appear around parallel phase, but few appear around reticular phase.
- Two damping peaks are detected at 78 °C and 167 °C in Mg-0.5Ce and Mg-1Ce alloys.
- The alloy with special parallel phase structure shows excellent damping capacity.
