- Anterior process fractures have never been documented in nursing literature.
- Accounts for approximately 15% of all calcaneal fractures.
- Mechanism of injury and the clinical presentation is similar to that of an ankle sprain.
- Increase awareness when viewing radiographs.
- This fracture is easily missed and are commonly misdiagnosed as ankle sprains.
