ENFit® Feeding Tube Connectors: A Primer for the Radiology Nurse

Patients requiring enteral nutrition (tube feeding) often have feeding tubes placed or replaced by the interventional radiology team. New enteral connectors are now available on enteral devices to prevent misconnections between systems that should not connect. These new patient-access connectors, called ENFit®, are being now introduced for the purpose of improving patient safety. Transitioning to these new connectors pose challenges for the interventional radiology suite, and the radiology nurse can lead the team in making this change.
