Membrane protein crystallization in micelles conjugated by nucleoside base-pairing: A different concept

Spontaneous partitioning of hydrophobic G and C nucleoside derivatives into nonionic micelles induces extensive conjugation via base-pairing at the micellar interface. This creates an environment which promotes crystallization of the membrane protein, bacteriorhodopsin (bR).206
