Transthoracic echocardiogram in syncope patients with normal initial evaluation

A patient who is older than 59 years or has an abnormal ECG or an elevated BNP level may benefit from TTE. Otherwise, TTE should be deferred in patients with no risk factors in the initial evaluation.
