- Three principal species comprise a clear-wing moth, leafhopper and looper.
- Selective placement of insecticide on stem base of 5-6 month-old plants
- Control levels of > 97% achievable against clear-wing moth
- Fungus, Nomuraea rileyi, showing potential as entomopathogen against looper
- Strepsipteran, Halictophagus calcaratus, commonly associated with leafhopper
