Cassia tora (Leguminosae) seed extract alleviates high-fat diet-induced nonalcoholic fatty liver

► We examined the effect of CSEE on HFD-induced NAFLD. ► CSEE inhibited hepatic lipids accumulation in HFD-fed rats. ► AMPK inhibition impeded CSEE-induced prevention of increased intracellular TG accumulation in HepG2 cells induced by insulin. ► CSEE may have potential use as a therapy for the treatment of obesity-related fatty liver.
