Anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects of strawberry and mulberry fruit polysaccharides on lipopolysaccharide-stimulated macrophages through modulating pro-/anti-inflammatory cytokines secretion and Bcl-2/Bak protein ratio

► Strawberry and mulberry fruit polysaccharides were isolated in this study. ► The isolated polysaccharides modulated macrophages' cytokine secretion ratio. ► The polysaccharides changed Bcl-2/Bak protein levels in LPS-stimulated macrophages. ► The polysaccharides exhibited anti-inflammatory and anti-apoptotic effects.
