Mechanism of cisplatin resistance in human urothelial carcinoma cells

► A pair of isogenic carcinoma cells was used to study the cisplatin resistance. ► The lower cisplatin uptake was found in cisplatin-resistant cell lines. ► Change of intracellular platinum content did not affect the cytotoxicity. ► bcl-2, ho-1, and p16 knockdown increased the drug sensitivity of resistant cells.
